ABOUT ME
James Jared Ford
I recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional & Technical Writing at Dixie State University, and I hope to put the skills and techniques that I have learned to use. The Southern Quill, DSU’s literary journal, published one of my short stories, “Rattled,” and awarded me with the first-place Naythan M. Bell Fiction Award and scholarship.
The works of visionary authors such as Gene Wolfe’s The Book of the New Sun and J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion inspired me to become a writer, and I hope to someday publish my own series of fiction novels. Their incorporations of creative linguistics, complex depictions of culture, and speculative histories and mythologies construct unparalleled atmospheric world-building that I would like to emulate.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading about the latest scientific discoveries and technologies. I am very interested in the overlap between Science and Art, and I would love to be the next Michael Crichton someday.
